OfflineI was wondering if the tang designation changed on the 1892 in one specific year, or if it occurred over a few years. I have a TD in 32 WCF from 1922 with the tang designation “Model 92” instead of “Model 1892” and I just wondered in what year Winchester made the switch.
Thanks for the help,
Steffan

OfflineDon’t know if this will help but, for the model 1894 the switch to model 94 designation was about 1920. Maybe the 1892 made the switch about the same time. Either Twobit or 1892takedown will probably chime in on this. They are the 2 members that specialize in the 1892’s and may have the accurate dates for the change.
