I did that too with my Winchester Model 1898 Signal Cannon but during the day.

Fireworks and dogs don’t mix well. Even my hunting dogs had or have some issues when wind carries them near. Tim
Our neighborhood was a war zone. I’m not kidding when I say it will take weeks to clean up the mess all around and on my house. My black truck looks white with all of the debris. The fog comes off the ocean at night so once the sun comes out everything is stuck on it until I wash it. A trip on the freeway yesterday blew off the big chunks.

Several of my neighbors try to outdo each other and this year was bigger than the last few. At one point it looked like a movie set for a Civil War battle scene with all the smoke rolling through. My little dog used to watch the show with me, we even had one of my resident rabbits join us for a little while one year. Rabbit wasn’t impressed and soon wandered off. Poor Buddy was disappointed I didn’t let him chase the rabbit. I generally stay indoors due to all the gunfire. Some of my neighbors don’t seem to understand that bullets shot “into the air” do come down.

A lot of cities have banned all fireworks Our city allows safe and sane. Much safer for everyone. But, there is so much illegal fireworks. One house blew up and killed the guy storing some illegal stuff. About 2 miles from me a young girl got killed. One of her family members went to jail.
