The above is a Granville Stuart cabinet card.  Auction estimate was $800 to $1200 and the hammer price was $11,000.

Funny thing was the next two lots were Granville Sharps rifles.  Lot 46 was a Big 50 with an estimate of $30,000 to $40,000 and the hammer price was $27,500.  Lot 47 was a Stuart Brothers used, engraved M1853 Sharps.  Estimate was $65,000 to $110,000 and it hammered at $50,000.

I’d rather have metal and steel than cardboard, but that’s just me.

Oh, and the J.B. Stuart inscribed and engraved Henry rifle (estimate $40,000 to $60,000) hammered at $47,000:

and, his engraved my 1876 .50-95 engraved rifle (estimate $200,000 to $350,000) hammered for $250,000.

Well i was off on what i figured they would bring. I was guessing 4-550k.  Was fun to see it all and catch up with a few people there. Got to watch out for the guy in the “duster”. 😉
