Lest we forget.

A tip of the hat to ALL our Veterans, and on Remembrance Day, “Lest We Forget”!

We visited Arlington National Cemetery a few weeks ago, and paid our respects to the Family members buried there, and also visited the Marine Corps Museum, and visited the, “Air Wing”, tribute to My Brother in Law, and observed his memorial brick, not only showing his name but 30 years of service, as a CWO5, Navigator on the C-130 Hercules Transport planes.

I personally say Thank You to ALL our Veterans!

God Bless!

Indeed! My mother always called it Armistice Day, maybe that’s why I’ve always had an interest in history.

I had a very nice Veterans day with my fellow men of arms.  Bob Landis Owner of Ohio Ordnance Works in Chardon, Ohio puts on a wonderful Lunch for Vets on Veterans Day.  Each year they have a speaker, and music.  Yesterday they had a man that was a dead ringer for Johnny Cash, and he was very good!  Bob Landis is a gun guy, member of OGCA.  Who has a had a number of displays at OGCA, and regularly attends the show.  A God Fearing Man.  That is a true Hero!  I hope that all my Veteran friends here, had a nice Veterans Day!

We stood outside at the cenotaph in the snow and wind, for about a 1 hour memorial ceremony where they read all the names of Our lost ,(local) veterans, and We pay Our respects to King and Country and honor Our Vets. My Father was in on the Sicilian/Italian invasion in 1943 and He always told the story of Christmas dinner there with the Americans, 2 real, hard boiled eggs , real ham and potatoes with desert and tea. He always said it was the best meal He’d had in 4 years, the Canucks got mutton, bully beef  powdered eggs and hard tack bread. So on behalf of John J. Mero P.F.C., Hastings & Prince Edward Reg’t, Canadian Army ,1939-1945, thank You for the Christmas dinner, He, and We kids, never forgot it.
