OfflineIts a Ideal tool. Most that I have seen are nickel plated. I think the R stands for “Remington” or “Repeater”. It should have a flat nose bullet mold. I know the ones with a M are “Marlin”

OnlineI believe that the “R” designates the 25-20 Repeater (WCF) cartridge as opposed to the 25-20 Single Shot (S.S.) cartridge which was the much more common cartridge of the two in the 1882 – 1900 timeframe. Winchester manufactured more than 7,500 Single Shot rifles in the 25-20 S.S. cartridge, a large number of which were before they introduced the 25-20 WCF (repeater) cartridge.
