I have a model 1873 caliber 32-20. From what I can tell from the measurement and serial number it is a 3rd run sporting rifle. My concerns are this, the stocks are both checkered and it would appear that it was fit with a peep at one point. Serial # 209716B. I guess I’m trying to figure out if it is a custom. Also the but plate is crescent. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

OfflineIf you can send me photos I can look at it and tell if it look original or a records check will tell if its original. Most all 73’s were drilled and tapped for a tang mounted tang sight. When the sight wasn’t installed the holes were filled with plug screws.
