It struck me as I looked over this thread.with my morning coffee that one of the most pleasant things about our Association is this:

When a fellow member scores a fine old rifle, a really nice piece of Americana in attractive condition, there is a genuine collective pleasure taken in the event. Perhaps it reignites our own memories of good times and produces endorphins accordingly.

And there is a certain relief and satisfaction to be shared, that the prize, which represents a past history of great American ingenuity and manufacturing skills, will survive to bear witness.

"I have seen wicked men and fools, a great many of both, and I believe they both get paid in the end, but the fools first." -- David Balfour, narrator and protagonist of the novel, Kidnapped, by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Bill ,

Very well said and I just want to thank all you guys for your great advice , knowledge and help !!!

Had I seen that rifle in the case a couple years ago I don’t think I would have given it a second look ….

It was definitely worth the price of admission to join this association , thank you all !!!

In other words we’re gun-loving, vicarious enablers. In addition we generally have fun doing it!Laugh
