O.k so I know you are able to post pics. Also able to read the past articles. I’m wondering about the factory letters. I see that WACA members get additional letters at a discount. What I haven’t been able to find yet (maybe I didn’t look hard enough) is the final cost for those Cody letters. Let’s say I’m a WACA and Cody member. What will a letter cost me? Also wondering if the membership is calendar year to year, or based on when you join. Go.

Membership is from when you join.
WACA members don’t get additional letters from Cody, you get 15 additional phone searches. I looked and can’t find a online price list for letter packs but I have a old one with so you can get a idea of what they do. As a Cody member you will get some letters with your membership if you get the $250 or above level. Then you get a discount on letter depending on your membership level is as well after you use your included letters. You can then buy letter packs at discount depending on your membership level. The letter packs and search packs you buy during the holiday sale must be used before the end of next year or you lose them.
You don’t get a discount on letters from Cody with the WACA membership except for the holiday sale for letters at the regular price.

Let’s see if I have this right. If I pay for a 150 level membership at Cody, and I bought 5 letters, I’d be even money. (saving $30 per letter)
What do I get with the phone search? Say i want to know if the barrel length is correct an a 94 I’m looking at. Is that something I could find out with the free phone search? (assuming it’s in the serial range they can search)

With the old price list your $25 ahead by getting the $150 membership and buying a 5 letter pack.
At the $150 level you get 5 searches and the 15 from WACA. The searches can take up to 2 business days to get and you can call or email them to them and get a reply via phone, email or fax. I don’t know if they do anything with text. I get them emailed so I have a copy to print. When there is a big gun show going on they will sometimes be at the show or they have extended hour to answer the phone during the show. I use them to check on guns I find to verify configurations all the time.

Lest we forget, a BBHC/CFM membership also supports the museum that houses a simply awesome collection of Winchesters as well as many of the surviving Winchester archives. Quite honestly the searches and letters are just icing on the cake…I never get around to using them all anyway.
