I think I know; once he started reading all the old threads he lost track of most other things for awhile. It’s easy for a newcomer to have that “problem”.

Welcome, Mike! Do you have any particular areas of interest?

I’ve been buying and shooting M94’s, and M95’s lately. Looking for a M86 at the moment. I was given my first winchester  back in 1966 when I was 9 years old. M1906 with a gumwood stock. My Dad handed it to me and said “here, don’t do anything stupid with this”. I filled the pot with that gun for many years. Pretty much ruined my life with that gun, skipped school and ran the woods when ever I could slip away. I used to hide in the driveway culvert so the bus would pass by then grab the 1906 that I had leaning on the tree and disappear for the day. I returned home about when the bus would go by again. Didn’t take long for my school skipping to be discovered, the old man would beat the hell out of me to little effect. I still skipped school all the time. Just think how smart I would have been with out that Winchester!  The gun has been in the family since the 1930’s, my Grandpa traded some home made beer for it. Rifling is all but gone now and the blue has been gone since before I got it.
