Hey all, new member here, I have been perusing the forum from time to time but am now signed up as a member. I have been a long time admirer of old lever guns, and as I have gotten older that admiration has turned into a very small collection. I hope to be a participant here and learn from the long time members, and look forward to participating on the forum.
Thanks a bunch for having me, Matt

Matt – Welcome!

Welcome, Matt! Any models or chambering in particular appeal to you or are you just doing your best to enjoy all of them?
Mike
I always want to say that!
But seriously, welcome. I’m brand new here as well, with a very similar story…been a lever gun admirer for years, and just recently decided that since I have pretty much all the other toys I need (for now), I’ve started a bit of a lever gun collection, myself.
See you around!

Thanks! In order of favorites I like the 1894, 1892, and 1876. For now I only own 1894’s, in 30 WCF and 32 Win Special, but I’m now hot after a 38-55. I lean towards the rifle length, but own both rifles and a carbine length. I’d still like an SRC at some point, but haven’t found one in the right condition. I kick myself for passing on an 1894 that was part of the lot that was sent to the forest service in WWII, but at the time I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I look forward to being here for sure, getting educated!

Thanks for the welcome, guys!
Henry, I’m from Rhode Island. Nice “little” collection you have there! I especially like those takedown rifles you have there. No wonder I’m having a hard time finding any good old Winchesters…guys like you apparently beat me to them years ago! Which reminds me, I was going through my dad’s old gun purchase records the other day from decades ago, and it looked like he had some nice old Winchester lever guns that I never even knew about. The only old Winchester he left me was a Model 52 (bolt action .22) from 1938.
I’ve always had a “thing” for the 1894s, ever since my dad bought me my first gun back around ’69/’70. He got me an Ithaca Model 49 single shot .22 lever gun, which was like a kid’s version of the ’94. I always swore that some day, I’d get a big boy version of that gun, and finally made that happen this past year. Since then, I’ve bought four more lever guns, only one of which was an old one (1921 SRC). And yes, I still have that Ithaca that first got me hooked.
