I am trying to find a date of manufacture on my

Winchester Model 9422M

Cal. .22 Win. Magnum

Serial # F164XXX

Additionally, I have been trying to find date of manufacture for my Winchester Model 55 Nickel Steel

Cal. .30 WCF

Serial # 107XXX

Any information would be most helpful.

Please post the complete serial numbers…  The model 55 should be 7-digits versus just 6-digits.  Is it a Take Down or a Solid frame?

Bert H.

I am reasonably confident that my

Winchester Model 9422M

Cal. .22 Win. Magnum

Serial # F164416

Manufactured 1973? 1974?

I’m not so sure exactly which year, however.

Additionally, I have included the more accurate serial number on my

Model 55 Winchester Nickel Steel

Cal. .30 WCF

Serial # 1077275

It is, in fact, a Solid Frame. I do have a photograph of it, but I don’t know how to attach it to this thread in the Forum. Perhaps, if the serial number is not enough to go on and you need a photo, you could share your email with me so I can attach it to an email. Any and all information on both of my Winchesters is very much appreciated, Sir, and I thank you in advance for your help and knowledge. I fully trust your information to be as correct as it possibly can be outside of documentation from the Cody Firearms Museum. How do I acquire a certificate of manufacture from the CFM for my rifles, anyway?

Many thanks,

DesertStormArmyVet

Your Model 9422M was manufactured late in the year 1974.

Your Model 55 was manufactured in August 1931. It should have a “31” dated stamped barrel.

You can send pictures to me at – [email protected]

The CFM can provide a DOM letter for your Model 55, but not for the Model 9422M (they do not have any records for that model).

I have 9422M. With serial WM**, have not been able find information on this rifle, except that it apparently was presented to some workers when they were first made.  The one I have is in new condition and I have never fired it.
