i recently purchased a 1966 commemorative model 94 at an estate sale was told the father was original owner,when i checked the serial number it is telling me the gun was manufactured in 1895

The Model 94 1866 Centennial commemorative was one of the very few that Winchester did not add a prefix to the serial number. They were serialized “1” through “102666”, all in the year 1966.
