Does anyone recognize these stamped markings on a M 1876 carbine S/N 14622 , cal. 45/60 ?   SMG on barrel and stock. Winchester T.E. Hall letter confirms: carbine, caliber,  and ship date.  “RML” carved into stock. Welcome, Doug!

Most likely explanation is these were the initials of previous owners. Can’t make out anything in the picture of the barrel below the front sight.
