I’m curious to know; when a SN lookup states, “No configuration information available” is that actually all there is to it and requesting a factory letter would yield no more information?

e.g.: Model 42 Skeet, SN#51586 came back to me as such, didn’t even mention SKEET model, even though it has the optional 2 1/2″ chamber and select wood. BTW the SN application date was October 21, 1942.

Ron,

There are guns they don’t have any configuration records. There are some models they have all of them and others just partial records.

I guess my question wasn’t clear, but I can assume then- no additional information is provided on a letter that wouldn’t already be on a SN lookup…

For your gun, the SN lookup and letter would have the same info.

There are just some guns that they have the S/N application date. Then they have guns that they only have configuration information and then they have guns that have both and there are some guns they have no information on. You can check the Cody web site and they will tell you which guns have what information.
