I have seen pics of gun stores in the lower 48 with lines out front that look like folks lining up for black Friday sales. I’ve heard of some stores selling out. Background check system is backed up. Anyone seeing this going on in your area? Of course they’re probably mostly after black guns and not old classics.
Shoot low boys. They're riding Shetland Ponies.
I’ve watched on the news that people are buying not just black guns but anything that shoots when the selection was low. Ammo was selling out and the only stuff left was odd ball calibers.

This is my LGS at the beginning of the week (Culver City in west Los Angeles). Last Friday I went to the local indoor range to do some plinking with some “working from home” co-workers and the adjacent ammo store had at least 100 people in line. Lots of stories of incredulous new patrons learning about gun regulations.
A pal of mine went to another LGS to transfer a handgun to a friend. He had two pistols with him (so the friend could decide which he wanted) and with nearly empty shelves it was a frenzy of people making ridiculous offers.
Now that the entire state is on lockdown, gun stores are only essential for LEO’s although people can still pick up by appointment at the end of their 10 day wait if they’ve already done the transaction.
(Please, not getting political, just reporting the situation).

The local gun shops are doing a brisk business but mainly for ammunition. The ammo supply is getting tight due to the shortages created by panic buying in the US where most of our ammo is supplied from. Most purchases are hunters and target shooters and not for protection purpose. A few more handguns are selling also but in Canada a person buying a handgun must have successfully completed a handgun safety course, then have the handgun registered and also have a firearm acquisition licence so not simply a case of walking into the store and buying a long gun or a handgun. So far no instances of looters or toilet paper riots.
win4575, Montana is a beautiful state. I have been there several times and enjoyed ever visit. I spoke with a game warden there a few years ago and when I suggested he come visit Ontario to hunt and fish his answer was “I have everything I need right here.” That about sums it up. You are Blessed.
You have some exceptional hunting and fishing in Ontario. I am a 5th generation Montanan. I’ve never lived anywhere else except when I was in the service. I’ve scouted the west and southwest all my life, but Montana is my home and this is where I’ll stay. Fishing and hunting aren’t bad here either.

That right is not in jeopardy, but new guns, esp. semi-autos & handguns, absolutely. If governmental edicts handed down in the manner of Chairman Xi can close restaurants & bars, why not gun stores?
At our local show last weekend, attendance was down by about 40%. There were two more scheduled on the next consecutive weekends within 50 miles and both are cancelled. I have not taken notice of ammo supplies, might be a good time to put some overburden ammo on gunbroker…….

I’m glad the LGS’s are busy but that is to be expected with most gun shows cancelled. This may be a good time to sell the powder I overbought after the last “shortage”.
