Hi all,
New Member here, long time lurker.
I’ve always wanted an M1 Garand and was curious to know if member ship in WACA is an acceptable membership qualification for a CMP purchase?
I have a CCW, so that’s good, but wasn’t sure id WACA satisfies the club affiliation. I used the search engine on the CMP website but nothing comes up when I enter “Winchester.” Searching here brings up way too many unhelpful results to filter through.
Does anyone know? And what is the likelihood to obtain a Winchester marked M1?
Thanks in advance. If this isn’t the right location to post, LMK

Hi Brian,
As far as I know, the Winchester Arms Collector’s Association is not currently on the CMP’s list of affiliated clubs.
The Garand Collectors Association is on the list and that is who I have previously used for my Winchester M1 Garands and M1 Carbines. The annual cost was $25/year but that may have gone up.
The bulk Winchester M1 Garands sold out a number of years ago but there is a continuous stream of them that still show up in the CMP auction section so there is still a possibility of getting a Winchester.
You bring up a good point, WACA meets all the requirements of club affiliation and it would be easy for us to apply. I will bring it to the attention of the WACA board for consideration. It might bring in a few more members and give our members discounts on CMP ammo and other items.
