I know the focus of the WACA (and my personnal interests) lies in pre 64 weapons, but a friend of mine enquired how to date a Winchester 94 in the 6.5M serial number, and we can’t find any online ressource giving this information.
Is there a way we have not found to link late guns to their date of manufacture?
many thanks in advance.

There are no available DOM lists that I am aware of for the late U.S.R.A.Co. production Model 94s. When FN shutdown them down and permanently closed the New Haven, CT factory in March of 2006, the final serial numbers were in the 6589500 range.

Thanks Bert,
my friend has found a discussion on this very forum that had eluded me and gave some clue as the highest number produced, giving us this “end date”, and a few more tidbits of info on previous SN – date.

in case other people ever look for the same info.
