I have a model 94 that’s been given to me from my dad. Having a hard time determining what the serial number is. First two look like Ls but if typed in as 1s comes as 1901. Could this be just how it looked back then ? Thanks In advance.

Hello Joe,

The “LL” is indeed actually a “11”, and 1901 is the correct year of manufacture.  The pictures below are several examples just like your Model 1894.

Thank you for the reply Bert. I figured it was that old! Think I might just leave it in the safe from now on. Which front sights were for this year and also magazine tube length? Seems like it was changed out

It is not possible to answer your question about the front sight or magazine tube length… you did not mention which specific variation of the Model 1894 that it is.
