Hello!
New member here. My name is Heriberto “Eddie” Colón-López, from NC.
I do not consider myself as a Winchester collector but more of an enthusiast. I do collect US Martial weapons and vintage target rifles along with all the gadgets from the era they were made, especially Al Freeland accesories. I currently own two Winchester rifles; one model 52C (purchased from seewin, great guy to deal with and learn from) and a model 52D, both US Property marked.
I am an avid smallbore shooter and enjoy using the old American made target rifles with period optics and equipment. I would like to add a Model 70 Target at some point. Have a very nice 14X Unertl target telescope waiting for me to find a model 70 target. As with any other weapon I have, originality is key for the model 70 I want; “the one” has not shown up yet. Lets say that I have lost some bitter auction battles! ?
I look forward enjoying the forum and learning more about Winchester arms in general.
Best.
Eddie

Pretty much describes me, too. Last purchase was a 1922MI, for which I’m now looking for an O’Hare front sight protector. (Have 2 now.) Before that, it was a 52A HB. Been looking a long time for a Krag carbine I can afford, but prospects look poor. All to shoot, no wall-hangers for me.
PS, Are you familiar with the special USMC front-sight blade for ’03s & ’22s? Have two & just ordered another from Bill Bentz.

Yes, I am familiar with USMC style sights for 1903’s. I have a front and rear set with front sight cover made by Bill Bentz on a 1903A1 that I use for “as issued” 1903 Springfield competition. Bill is a nice guy to deal with and the sights are top notch. Currently in the process of converting said rifle into a USMC m1941 sniper rifle!

Welcome, Eddie. I don’t truly consider myself a collector either, I think “shooter/accumulator of old Winchesters and similar firearms” Is more accurate. It’s not a hobby, it’s an addiction. Resistance is futile. Shooting those vintage target rifles is the most fun I’ve had in quite awhile, looking forward to hearing about your adventures and acquisitions.
