Howdy all!

 

I am looking for links to the 2009 Buffalo Bill Cody (items from Julia Cody Goodman) collection auction. This auction featured a “Frontier Conversion” of an 1851 Colt and I am looking for pictures of that Colt. I have the auction description as below:

Item Description: Translate description
Serial no. 87938. .38 centerfire caliber, 6-shot cylinder with naval engagement roll scene, 5 3/4-inch octagonal barrel with marking -Address Saml Colt New-York City-.” Left side of frame stamped “Colts/Patent.” Field conversion from percussion to cartridge, with ejector rod mounted on right side of barrel, loading gate with spring, and recoil plate attached to face of recoil shield. The hammer with brazed on firing pin. Brass gripstraps, one-piece walnut grips. Tooled leather holster and cartridge belt, the face of holster stamped “Geo. E. Robbins/Miles City Mont.” Affixed above a silver plaque, secured by copper wire, inscribed “Buffalo Bill/Cody.” Unidentifiable decorative motif engraved at center, between the nickname and the last name. Holster embellished with hand-tooled borders, as well as fitted with brass eyelets and beadwork. Cartridge belt stamped on buckle strap “1038/.38” and on the strap engaging the buckle: “Wyeth Hdw & Mfg. Co. St. Joseph, Mo.” beneath and above a star and within a stamped shield device through which is an arrow motif. Nickel-plated steel buckle. Two small chains attached to holster back leather.
Condition: Good. Gray and brown patina, with pitting, mars, and wear. 65% cylinder roll scene. Missing wedge screw. Traces silver-plating on gripstraps. Chip and old repair to left grip panel, wear and chip from right panel, with traces varnish. Action needs adjustment. Holster and cartridge belt worn, with some stains and patina, and some loose stitching. Holster missing some brass eyelets. Some restitching to holster.
