I started to reply in a couple of threads, but I thought this might be useful in general. Since joining WACA I’ve been using many of the recommendations for books I’ve seen here to round out my personal research collection. One place that I regularly find used reference books is on http://www.abebooks.com.

I saw that someone was looking for “Shooting Guns of the Old West” in another thread. They have several copies there and I got a copy of the Houze .22 book there at far less than eBay prices.

I have no connection. Just found it a good research as the website is an aggregator of used booksellers around the country.

Thanks for sharing that Steve. I found them a few years back and they are great . Very willing and able to follow up by email if they find something later.

Thanks, Steve. Been using Amazon for years but now that they’re into everything I’d like to consider other sources. They have the Venturino book I mentioned in the other thread as well as most others he’s written. As far as I know most of his books are still in print, have several in my reference library.  Houze books are a bit harder to find and prices seem to vary. I’ll be adding more of his books in due time.
