I recently purchased a 1894 30 WCF. carbine with the factory error date of AUGUST 14. 1894. In Renneburg’s book it says they are quite rare. Is anyone keeping track, and have an idea how many there really are? It is in the serial number range he quoted in the book. Thanks for your time. Larry
Hi Larry; No one seems to know for sure how many bear this pat. date or the Oct 14 pat.date but yes they are scarce. According to some on the forum there is no premium in value because of this, I tend to think differently however. Does Your gun have any condition and would You consider posting the whole ser.# and a couple of pics.

I have been tracking these in my research survey for several years now, and can definitely state that they are neither rare or even scarce. They are found in the November 1906 – January 1908 serial number range, with the vast majority of them in the year 1907. Thus far, I have documented (54) of them, with (5) being Extra Lightweight Rifles, and (49) Carbines (none of which are button mag).
I would like to know what the complete serial number is so that I can document it is the research survey.
