Location: Greeley, Co.
Looking forward to enjoying another Colorado Gun Collector’s show… Who else is planning to make the trek? I expect better attendance this year without the NRA show close by on the same weekend. I hope to see many good friends again! I have 4 tables… gotta try to thin down the hoard so my wife doesn’t have to deal with it. Cheers.
I plan on being there. I have a table some place and will have a few of my custom engraved Winchesters to show. It’s been 4 years since doing the show having moved from colorado. It has always been a fun shoe to do and I usually came home with a new toy looking forward to hanging with old friends snd then going fishing in Wyoming before flying home
I’m in full load-prep for Greeley. That said, if you need a particular vintage rifle sight (all makes), scope, mount/rings, grip set or magazine, please PM me know and I will confirm and add to my load. I have four tables… over 70 long guns, Model 61’s, 70’s, 1890’s, 1892, 1894’s, 1895 & others. Marble Game Getters (3), Marlin Levers, Sako’s, Savages. Remington & Springfield 1903’s plus Griffin & Howe, Jaeger and Sedgley custom 1903’s. Plust vintage collectible knives by Randall, M.S.A., Marbles and others. My tables are in the NW corner of the building, by the Sharps Collectors… Looking forward to a good show. The weather looks cooperative, mild temps & a little rain on Saturday to bring people in! Everybody travel safe… Cheers!

A little bait for those interested in A5’s. I bringing an early 1904 (sn 5139), factory engraved (type IV), Browning Auto 5… I know it’s not a Winchester, but Browning is a major part of the DNA. I heard that Winchester said the A5 would never sell… well, it sold extremely well. When Winchester came out with the 1911, lets just say I’m glad they weren’t so arrogant earlier on. The barrel & frame match. The wood has been replaced and high quality restoration work done to restore the tang’s engraving and a couple other sins. The finish was untouched. The case is vintage & looks nice, but isn’t factory. Will also have a couple nice Parker Bros. & Lefever doubles too.
Ben,
I can’t go but I’ll second your declaration about Browning and Winchester. You really can’t talk about one without mentioning the other. I’ve never met another WACA member who doesn’t have an Auto-Five; or hasn’t had one and is not looking for another. Safe travels and good “hunting”.

Arrived in Greeley yesterday morning… a little overcast, mid 70’s, really nice. Then a dark wall of clouds rolls in from the southwest… wind, rain & more rain… throw in some lightning, lots more wind, sideways rain… and it lasted for hours. All the while, I still smiled and saw the bright side, at least is wasn’t happening during load in for the show. 🙂

Hope y’all have a great show! I’m enjoying a little well-deserved down time but hoping to get in a little range time, weather permitting. Need to blow the lint out of my social equipment and check out some .22’s.

Ben, you had the good weather, I arrived last night driving from the west on 70 and hit a white-out blizzard just past Vail, it lasted for about an hour. We don’t get to see that in the desert…..My black Dodge is looking dirtier than ever though, I don’t think it has ever seen a salted road. 🙁
I am headed up to the show this morning and looking forward to seeing everyone!

Better treat her to a nice undercarriage wash as soon as you’re done! (I’m talking about your truck
)
When I ordered my old Dodge truck from Dave Smith Motors, I paid them to have extra under coating applied just in case. While it and the spray in bedliner may have added a few hundred extra pounds to the truck, it definitely helps to quiet the road noise, and it protects all of the exposed surfaces you ordinarily do not see.

I missed the show on Thursday due to 5 hour airline delay. Didn’t get to my hotel until 5 pm. Lightning and a small tornado delayed my departure some coming home. Heading toward the airport the rain was so bad I literally could not see and I was fumbling trying to figure out how to turn the wipers on in the rental.
Bought a couple items but not any rifles. There were a few empty tables but it was a wonderful show for me. Hope we still can go next year. One of the locals told me that Colorado has handed California a beer and asked them to step aside and watch what Colorado can do to destroy our sport. The CGCA says the the new rules won’t effect the curio and relicts and antique shows. I’ve always liked this show better than the Vegas show.
It’s Monday evening and I just drove in… almost 1300 miles and I’m beat. After loading up my stuff in the rain (no fun) I drove to Buffalo, Wyoming… lots of wind & rain, but no Tornado along the way thankfully. The winds picked up overnight and there were 40-50 mph gusts and a heavy headwind. My mpg went from 21 to 12… had to re-figure my gas & coffee stops. The show was good for me… sales were much better than last year. There were more people. I was able to trade for some nice sights & parts. It was good to re-acquaint myself with some of the folks on this forum. If I see you at a show, and don’t greet you properly or at least give you a bad time, please let me know. So many faces in so many places, I tend to get a little foggy in the brain. But please know that I do enjoy talking with folks. Also, if you have the opportunity to go out to eat with JWA… choose Thai and everything will be fine. Hope to see you all in Cody! Cheers!
