Well, Bubba’s turned me down. Sorry Bert, I tried. I did call Fat Rack bbq… They have 300+ great reviews as well and 4.7 of 5 stars. They have several tables but most are outside. The weather forecast looks promising. Note: they often sell out and then close for the day… but, they will prepare extra if we commit to showing up… check out their menu and let me know. So… meet there at 6pm Wed. the 9th? Cheers!

Mike I went to a BBQ place in Denton quite a few years ago. One side of a 2 part building was a butcher shop and the other was a room full of picnic tables. Out back was where they cooked. Can’t remember the name?

Maybe you know him and can get us a “special” deal?
Sounds like the guy that had a BBQ restaurant awhile back in my new hometown of Valley View, just up the road from Denton. That was maybe 15-20 years ago. I don’t think I ever met him, that was before my Chamber of Commerce days.

This could be the start of an annual thing. 🙂 I really enjoy the combination of gun shows, friends and good BBQ… When I attend the Tulsa show, I go to Billy Ray’s out in Broken Arrow (amazing all-you-can-eat Catfish!). In Kansas City, I have to eat at Q39… when in Louisville, it’s Mark’s Feed Store BBQ, in Missoula it’s Notorious Pig BBQ… in Reno, Carolina Kitchen & BBQ… Haven’t found good BBQ in Denver, Phoenix, Las Vegas or Portland… yet.

Maybe. Robert LaSalle had two BBQ places in Denton. The one down south had the pit on the far west side and when I went there the east side had a burger restaurant. Would have been 60’s or 70’s, Bob died about 30-years ago.

Please let me if you ( be sure to add your spouse, friend, vagrant, etc) are planning to attend so I can inform the staff… Brisket takes about 16 hours to achieve perfection… 🙂 thanks.

I’ll try to make the Fat Rack meet-up but if I don’t get a clean getaway Monday I’ll probably have to settle for a Philly cheesesteak at the Elkhorn in Meeteetse. Several of our California/Arizona/New Mexico members wandered in there last year on Cody Show Eve.

Safe travels to all, and us back home slumming will be looking for pictures, stories, and an amazing video of some kind!
Glad many of you are getting together!

Indeed. It’s killing me to be stuck in Dallas in July! Wash down the grease with one more cold one in my name!
