Never too early to start thinking about Cody!  We had a good turn out last year and there were others that expressed interest.  So, I thought we could get started a little early with planning the gathering.  I enjoyed the food but the lack of indoor seating space did hinder our fun. Gathering on Wednesday night helps limits “show set up impact”, but also limits some venues.  I’m open to suggestions so lets get the discussion started… what are peoples thoughts? BBQ?  Mexican?  or ?  Cheers!  Ben

I thought the BBQ was truly excellent.  I did not feel greatly hindered by the lack of seating, but if the goal is a really big turnout, another venue might allow that.

I’m in, we may even want to look into having him cater our gathering if we can find a room but that would take a fair bit of planning and could get expensive. I think it went off quite well, weather was unusually warm for our 2025 even, may not be an issue in 2026.

I think you may barely qualify, maybe a junior pass. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to kidnap you but I may need the ransom money to get home.

I thought it a nice gathering.  It helped I could sit, but then others had been there and left early.  I will attend again wherever it is held.  Tim

I dunno, I started hanging around gun collectors because they made me feel young. Lost a couple of colleagues from the “old days” in the last week so I need all the help I can get!

Let’s keep the dialogue flowing… Yes, the BBQ was very good!  I hope they are in business next summer (there was a “For Sale” sign up last summer).  The weather was definitely an issue for some.  Are there any other places that we should consider? I’m still a “newby” in the Cody experience.  This will be my 4th time to attend…I only wish I had started attending much earlier!  It’s a great event & the people (club officers & members) are the biggest part of that.  That’s even including Bert! 🙂

On another point, this last year, I had breakfast at the Irma Inn on Wednesday… I ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was amazing… I went back every day for it while at the show… it’s honestly just that good! I’ll be there every day during the show this year!

Ben-

If things go according to current plan, I will arrive at the Irma on Wednesday PM.  It would be an honor to join the group for supper.  I know very little about restaurants in Cody, so defer to you connoisseurs… Wink

Remember, I’m on the hook for buying the pizza at Bert’s place on Sunday!!! Laugh

Louis, looking forward to you joining with us!  We always need help keeping Bert in line…  If you need a ride from the airport, let me know.  The Irma is two blocks away from the BBQ place.

Just sayin’ – how about the Irma for the bar-b-que get together?  As I recall there is an under-cover outside area on the side street that seems ideal for our purposes???

I’ll check with the Irma re: availability.  Fat Rack’s does cater… I’ll see what we can come up with… with this much lead time we should be able to pull things together…  I’ve also submitted a “Wanted” ad for the Spring WACA newsletter…

Well , it looks like a toss-up between the Irma or the Best Western
