Can you help me determine the manufacture date of my Winchester Model 94 30 W.C.F serial number 1230783?

Hello,
June 1940. Accordingly, it should have a “W” stamped below the serial number. Does it have a Type 6 or a Type 7 upper tang marking?

It does have a W below the serial number. I don’t know the difference between type 6 or 7 on the tang. The stamp is WINCHESTER (in italics)
below that is says —Trade Mark—
below that is —MADE IN USA—–

I expected it would have the “W” stamp. The upper tang marking on your Carbine is the Type 6.
