Hey guys was just wondering something. Out of all the guns I have I do not have any that were produced during "The Great Depression"…..And as a matter of fact since I have been on all these gun forums I have never heard of anyone saying they had a serial # gun made during that time period…
Am I missing something??? History was not my strongest subject in school.
There must have been some made.

Hey Steve,
Would you be wondering about the years from 1929-1932 ?
If so, yes Winchester made guns during that time frame. I have a few.
I would imagine that all gun makers produced products from that time frame.

Steve, This is just my opinion.
I find Winchesters Manufactured during those years, very intriguing.
There are no factory records, except for the polishing room records.
In my opinion you will find some very interesting Winchesters made out of left over parts that were on hand during the good years of production. Winchester was utilizing parts on hand to keep cost down and employees working,(take the 94/95 variant of the 94 carbine for instance). Also the Model 94 Carbine for instance, stocks some with carbine style butt & plates, fluted style shotgun butt, serrated plates, plain shotgun butt, smooth plates. Receivers drilled for a Saddle Ring, just plugged, no saddle ring installed, some with a Saddle Ring. Then there are Model 94 Rifles that were made up during that time frame, were they special ordered or were they just made up to exhaust existing stock of parts?
So as I said this is just some my opinions on the Model 94 Winchester. Don’t forget about all the other, Older Models that were produced during that time frame.
Enjoy the Thought of that Time Frame. I wish I were there then.
