So I just arrived in Ft Worth for an Old West show and auction but before I left home I found out about a small backwoods auction going on tomorrow so I dropped by to view the guns and I am sending a bidder in case there are some deals to be made.  There was a 94 there, 30 WCF, serial number 14,119, it was in fair to good condition, I am upset that I didn’t get a pic but I am just trying to confirm my thoughts on the value.  Based on the limited info, would I be off base to think it could be worth $1200-$1500?   I am basing this value on the fact that it was manufactured in 94.   What are your thoughts?

Darlene,

First, it is a Model “1894” versus a “94”, and it was actually manufactured in late December of the year 1895.

As for the value, $1,200 – $1,500 is very low figure for a pre-1899 production Model 1894… unless it is in very poor condition.

Thank you for the correction Bert!   I am glad I asked, guess I will make a call and increase my bid.  Have a great day. ?

Bert, thanks for the advice, I was able to purchase the Model 1894.  Glad it worked out!

Also, I have been to the auction tonight here in Ft. Worth at the Old West Show and Auction.  Anybody from the forum here at this show?
