I have no doubt you are correct. If you go to the site below you’ll see ‘work’ being done to what they claim is an M70. I don’t see any notch cut out for an extractor claw. Confusing.

I think you will find the rifle in article is a post 1964 push feed model 70 which does not use a claw extractor. The post 64 rifles have a completely different extraction design with the extractor built into the end of the bolt body.

Funny thing about the video is they went to all that trouble and expense to install a take-off R-word barrel! There’s a good reason that barrel was screwed off that R-word action.  There have been long periods of time when the folks in Ilion simply couldn’t make a decent barrel. Investing the time and tools to adapt it to a Winchester action is good money after bad, IMHO. I figure they knew that, they didn’t bother to remove the tacky green paint while it was in the lathe.

And yes, the rifle in the video appears to be a push-feed.
