Hey I have a question,
On the 1894 carbine how was the front sight base attached to the barrel this is a 1894, made in 1895 the carbine’s caliber is 38-55. Some how over the years this sight has gotten knocked over to the right is there any fix?

If the base is bent, then it will take a gunsmith to fix it since the base is silver soldered on to the barrel. but if the inserts is bent then it just a matter of straightening it or replacing it. The insert is held in with a pin you knock out.
