Camping
There are a variety of campgrounds in the Cody area. The Chamber of Commerce is an excellent resource, and a simple internet search will provide additional campground information.
Please note: Overnight camping in the parking lot of the Riley Arena is strongly discouraged. The Cody Police Department regularly patrols the parking lot and may ticket overnight campers.
Buffalo Bill Center of the West
We are extremely grateful for our partnership with the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. During the weekend of the show, WACA members will receive free admission to the museum with a valid membership card. There is plenty to see and experience at the museum so we encourage you to take the time to enjoy all that it has to offer.
The Show
The Cody Show is the premier event of the year for our association and features some of the finest Winchester firearms and Winchester-related items in the world. The show includes 330 tables dedicated to buying, selling, and trading.
On Sunday, the rifle raffle winners will be announced for two short rifles: Models 1873 and 1892. Raffle ticket purchases are available through the WACA Office or at the show. $40 for 20 tickets, $20 for 10 tickets, or $3.00 each.
Show Badges
Name badges are made prior to the show and placed in the registration packets. Registration packets contain name specific badges and it speeds the process if we can complete those in advance. If you have changes to your badges or have not provided names, please call the WACA Office.
Two Exhibitor badges are included for 1st table; 1 additional badge given for each additional table, limit of 4 badges total. ***Two additional badges are available per table holder at $35 per badge.
Display Awards
Educational displays showcase the rich history of Winchester firearms and related collectibles. All displayers are recognized at the Annual Banquet for their hard work and dedication to preserving Winchester history.
Top displayers will compete for the coveted Glenn Hockett Best of Show Award and the George Madis Best Educational Award. Cash prizes will also be awarded to the top three displayers.
Events
The Buffalo Bill Center of the West will host our Annual Members Meeting in the Coe Auditorium on Friday evening. Immediately following the meeting, members and a guest are invited to attend a complimentary meet-and-greet featuring a small fare menu. There is no cost to attend this event.
On Saturday evening, our Annual Banquet will be held at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Guests will enjoy a buffet-style dinner along with a presentation by Hunter Old Elk, Curator of the Indian Plains Museum. She will be speaking on the topic of Beauty and Function: Plains Indian Rifle Cases and Gun Stock War Clubs.
The evening will also include display awards presentations and a fundraiser raffle. This is always an enjoyable event for attendees. Banquet tickets are $50 each and may be purchased through the WACA Office. Seating is limited and tickets may not be available for purchase at the show.
There is plenty to see and do in and around Cody in addition to attending the show. The 51st Annual Cody Show continues the tradition and legacy that make this event so special. We hope you will join us in Cody for this milestone gathering of Winchester collectors and enthusiasts.

OfflineGlad you made it home safe Chuck. I just rolled in myself. Weather heading north from Greeley was a bit interesting. A friend went to Oregon thru Laramie… ended up in a blizzard & having to drive 30 mph thru 3″ of snow & slush. Colorado never fails to throw us a weather curve ball. Cody should be much easier… I hope! Cheers!

Heather, you are very welcome.
I’m just home from Greeley and I am already planning out my next road trip, which happens to be to Cody.
We are packing up. We have a lot of stuff to bring. I am worried about fires and tornadoes. We’ll have to look at what route to take when we get closer to leaving.

OfflineSafe travels to all who make the drive to Cody!
It is a 15+ hour drive for me to get from western Washington to Cody… 2-days on the road each direction and 54 – 55 gallons of No. 2 diesel fuel! My old Dodge has been making that same trek since June 2005!

I’m coming a day early so I can come to dinner on Wednesday night. 1,100 miles and don’t know how much I will use but my twin turbo V6 with a 36 gal tank gets good mileage on regular gas if I stay off the turbos.

OfflineAbout 1300 miles for me, I need 20+ hours to drive it. My latest vehicle gets over 30 MPG and is one of the best road trip vehicles I’ve had in awhile. I’m looking forward to a road trip!
