Here is an outstanding and mint condition, Winchester Model 94 ae Pack Carbine, 30-30, serial number 6434392. This has an 18″ barrel, and 3/4 magazine, with beautiful pistol grip walnut stock and forearm. Included is the original numbered to the gun box, paperwork, and gun lock still in the package. Made in New Haven, Conn, these were introduced in 2000, and were only made 2000-2001, in both 30-30, and 44 magnum. In looking through Winchester catalogs, the 2000 catalog introduces the Pack Rifle (my box end label says Pack Carbine), it is still listed in the 2001 catalog, and then it is not listed in the 2002 catalog. (I have pictures of the catalogs if you would like to see them).

I’m not sure how many of these were made. Really this is the only one I’ve seen. There are no other’s listed on any of the major gun auction and sales sites, although there is one that sold last December on Gun Broker for $799 with no box, and some handling marks. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/846108650.  I’d like $750 plus $40 shipping.

Thanks,

Al

Although the box says ‘rifle’ and ‘carbine’ on the end, I think what you have here is the rifle. The carbine should have a barrel band rather than forearm cap. Also the Carbines I see in the BB. (3 variations) all have ghost ring sights. The Timber Carbine has checkered wood and comes in 444 and .450. The carbines have a 2/3 magazine and hold one less round than the 3/4 mag on the rifle. I have been known to be wrong in the past though.

Shoot low boys. They're riding Shetland Ponies.

I agree that this is a rifle variation because of no barrel band, etc, and Winchester lists it as a rifle in the catalogs, but my box end label states carbine. I want to be consistent with what the box end label states.
