Always wanted an original 1873 so I decided to start looking. Here’s what I want:

3rd Model

Rifle

Full Octagon barrel 20 or 24 inch

Full Magazine tube

Color Case

All original in very good shape

Caliber 44 or 38 not too concerned about that

If anyone has one or can point me in the right direction that would be great. Thank

Brian,

What price range are you looking at? That will determine what condition your shopping for.

Bob, I guess 5 or 6k. That should get me something pretty decent.

Brian,

You should get a fairly nice standard blued 73 but a cased one will have less condition as well as a 20″ gun.

I’ve got a beautiful specimen available if still looking. Open to trades as well?

I wouldn’t expect to find much bright case color on a M1873 in the price range.  You might get lucky of course.  Good luck in your efforts.
