I have a second year of production Win. ’73 being restored and would like to slap a tang sight on it but having a hard time finding one. Doesn’t have to be an original, but has to be period looking. Please pm me what you have.

The only tang sight Winchester had for the 73 that early would of been the Peep sight with the external spring and slapping one of those on there is going to hurt and thats if you can find one. A original is worth many thousands of dollars. There was a repo of it made many years ago but even those go for big bucks.

1873man, once more you are the epitome of ’73 genius. Can I be so bold as to ask you to post pictures of the front and bottoms of those two sights you posted? I would appreciate it.

Take a look at the Summer 2020 issue of the Winchester collector. Chris Hartman did a article of his early 73 with the tang sight on it and has the pictures you want with measurements if your going to make a repo.
