Earl, are you looking for a Target in 30-06, or an actual Bull Gun? The ’06 Bull Guns are quite scarce. Only about 800+ ever manufactured. On the other hand, the ’06 Target rifles were the most common caliber produced in that model.

Hi Earl-

Sorry I do not have any to spare, but just to clarify what you’re looking for in case others can help out.  Pictures aren’t great, but…

Bull Gun (S/N 411042), 30-06 SPFLD.  28″ extra heavy barrel:

Target Model (S/N 87131), .30 GOV’T’06.  24″ medium heavy straight taper barrel:

Like Steve says, the ’06 Bull Guns are uncommon while the ’06 target rifles are relatively plentiful.  Biggest problem with any M70 target rifle is finding an unmolested one in the right condition, as target rifles tended to get shot a lot more than hunting rifles and target shooters are by nature tinkerers.

Best of luck,

Lou

I currently have a National Match and a Heavy Barrel Target model. Hoping I could score a Bull.
