OfflineYou will also need a taller front sight for it to work properly. Mine (not for sale, sorry) has a gold bead and is marked “Lyman” on the side. Not sure if it was a specific SKU for the Winchester-Lee or just one of the front sights already in their catalog.
You’ll also need to carve away clearance in the inside walls of the stock for the rear sight so it can reach minimum elevation. I think mine was a factory job since the letter states it went to Russ for “improvements”. I’d post a photo to show it, but I haven’t taken the time to figure out how yet. Here’s a quick video, though:

That is very cool. Love the sight. And the fact that it got sent to Russ – surely a factory installed sight! I like how they designed this version of the sight with a hinge so it pivots upon bolt opening. Lyman took their sights seriously!
