I’m looking to buy back 1876 Express Rifle SN 60953. It’s a standard round barrel Express rifle in 80% condition previously in my collection. If it comes on the market I would like to have a chance to get it back. I don’t know where it is now.

You have a sharp eye. Yes, it’s the same rifle. Just hoping I’ll be able find it again someday.
For those that are wondering, Rick offered to sell it back to me but I was not able to buy it at the time. It ended up being sold by Don Grove. He never responded when I told him I was interested in acquiring it again.

Within a week after I sold it to Don at the Denver Gun Show, he had it on his web site for $21,000. I watched it for about a week and it was gone. I’m sure he didn’t get that much for the gun, but it was gone in a very short period of time.
Model 1876 in 50 caliber – checkered, case hardened, octagon, rifle butt and pistol grip. Will be for sale not too far down the road. I have given a WACA member who purchased another gun for me the first right of refusal – looking for additional interest for when I am ready to let it go. This gun has been in my safe for almost 40 years – it is original and correct in every respect – mechanically perfect and has a great bore. A case hardened deluxe with an octagon barrel and pistol grip in 50 Express is hard to find.
