Winchester has a short run of 1885 16.5″ saddlering carbines made in japan. I have three, a 30-40 krag-a 38-55-a 45-70. I think they made 125 of each for Davidsons bros, mine all have serial #79 with a different sufex for caliber. It may be easier to find one those than a original, I know it would be a lot cheaper.
