Dana,

I have (5) W.R.A.Co. loose 40-70 W.C.F. cartridges in my cartridge collection. (3) of the cartridges are 100% original full cast lead bullets, the other (2) are loaded with early jacketed bullets, and have been lightly cleaned at some point in time.

Bert, Thank You for the reply. I have found what I need for now. I am in search of an original box for the 40-70 cartridges and a box for 38-70. Probably a lifelong search.

Thanks, Dana

Empty boxes are harder to find than those with cartridges still in them… like you, I spent years looking for several boxes (38 Express, 40 Express, and 45 Express), but was ultimately successful in finding them.  I also have (6) loose 38-70 W.C.F. cartridges.

Bert,

What are You asking for your cartridges? I was figuring I might find a part box or something. Doesn’t have to be high condition.

Hi Dana

If you can’t find another in the next few years, I can bring mine with me when I next visit the USA and in particular Maine. But this can still take some time.

Greetings from Germany

Stefan

Dana,

I don’t know if you would be interested, but i have a 38-70 hand reloader.  No decapping pin, but is in pretty good condition.  Let me know if you are interested and i’ll send you some pictures.   [email protected]

Last time we went up from Boston to Bangor and Bar Harbor. One of my most beautiful roadtrips worldwide. One of the highlights was the delicious food. I fell in love with clam chowder and lobster.

I live 2 hours north of Bangor, up in the moose woods. Pretty hard to beat the fresh seafood along the Maine coast. Make sure You try the fresh crabmeat rolls if You get a chance. Probably My favorite lunch from a coastal roadside food stand.
