Flying in Wednesday…. last fall I rented a scooter on Friday to see & buy as much as possible (bad knee’s & back), got to admit that was the best $75. I’ve spent in a long time. So I booked another for this show… it’s the only way I can keep ahead of JWA & Elliot!
You will have no problem staying ahead of me, I broke my ankle last month and it is still healing….your scooter idea might not be a bad idea, I just need to rent one slightly faster than yours 😉
Safe travels!
Jeff-
I’m the official scooter wrangler for the TGCA shows, if you need help locating one let me know. I’m just now getting back to walking (2.3 miles today!) from last May’s ankle injury. I almost needed one for Cody show, was able to get by with a good wrap job. FYI the red ones are always fast. Don’t ask me how I know. Don’t forget to plug it in!
Mike
Good to know, thanks Mike!
I can probably get a bit more speed out of the red one if I build a custom lithium plug in booster battery but that would probably void the warranty…..
I did 4k on the ankle last week which over did it and now back to limping again. They said it would take at least 6 weeks to heal (I am at week 5) but I signed a waiver and had them cut the cast off at 3 weeks so I could travel abroad easier with only an ankle brace and a cane, which was not one of my brighter ideas in retrospect……
I thinks todays medicine is not as good as it used to be, I used to heal faster…..
Best Regards,

Here’s the webpage to pre-order your scooter…. I’m just getting one for Friday. With Saturday always being so crowded it would be a waste. https://htmia.com/events/index/reservation/ Jeff, we’ll be racing neck & neck… but Elliot is awfully quick for being as young as he is.

That’s a fair price on a scooter, especially for a heavy duty model. Our supplier has a package rate but charges a delivery fee. Funny how it costs less to rent a car. There’s a knob in the control panel that controls the speed, crank it up before racing. Ben, if you see Jeff with a screwdriver and soldering iron you may want to reconsider your race wager.
Mike
I am an Engineer, it is a simple power-to-weight ratio problem. If you see me naked on the scooter with all the fiberglass panels removed, then you should pull your race wager….

I do like this Chevy Impala too…. that Woody is too high for my comfort, the tipping point / weight would be devastating… Yes, I’m burning time before I go to bed… getting up at 4 am, leave for the airport at 4:45… flight lands in Tulsa at 3:30… pick up the rental car and go to a few local gun shops and Billy Ray’s BBQ before heading to OKC and hit the shops there Thursday morning, enjoy a late lunch at Knotty Pig BBQ and head back to Tulsa for the early set up… the rest of the weekend will be a blur… travel safe everyong & if you see something you like, buy it… because you won’t find it again. Cheers! Ben

you get the catfish at Billy Ray’s?
ABSOLUTELY! I never liked Catfish until I ate at Billy Ray’s when it was off 15th street 10 years ago… Their “all you can eat” Catfish is a wonderful thing to enjoy. See Jeff, what did I tell you? Great catfish at a BBQ place! I go to the one in Broken Arrow… I went to the original location on the West side several years back, it was neat to see the pics of Hank Williams on the wall (he loved the place). Yes, I plan to eat alot of BBQ whenever I’m in Oklahoma… or Texas… and Georgia… and any other place with good BBQ….
Awesome, it just needs a rifle rack to be complete.
Safe Travels!

Ahem,
I win the award for living closest to the Wanenmacher gunshow.
Roger, don’t lie your house is 5 miles away…I live a mere 2.75 miles east of the fairgrounds.
I always go home for lunch and to let the dogs out.

Oklahoma Joe’s is good. I think there is only one in Owasso and Catoosa though. The one Downtown one did not survive the covid deal. I have never eaten at the Catoosa location, but we have several lunch meetings with my vendors or the wanaabe vendors at the Owasso location – my fulltime boys regularly pick that place to meet them. It is good.

I will track you down. I’ve been there, just didn’t know it. I am pretty sure the guy who has the tables I hang with has wheeled and dealed with you.
