Hi Wally-
Some people like the racks made by Fort Sandflats in Texas. Their three-piece racks can be reversed left-to-right depending on what side of the gun you want to show… I’ve seen the gun room of a WACA member who uses these and it’s outstanding!!! Not sure if I’d want them for a “traveling display” but they sure do look nice.

I am paranoid about “stability” so I built some “fixed” five gun racks of my own… More stable IMHO, but only left-side or right-side out b/c the parts are permanently screwed together… These aren’t hard to make if you are comfortable with simple woodworking… Table saw and hole saw bits are enough if you’re patient… My typical routine being measure twice, cut once, cuss really loud, then start over… 😉😀…
Best,
Lou

Wally, While I appreciate that you want the capacity of 5 rifles per rack, I suspect 4 is about the safest maximum. The wooden racks by Fort Sandflat are quite nice, but mine only handle 3 each. I like the looks of the ones Lou shows. Fred Vandersnick makes them of clear plastic that hold up to four and the clear plastic (Lucite maybe) tends to disappear and shows the rifles better. I suspect a query will turn up Fred’s contact info. Ask Bert or Heather. Tim

Wally-
If you want, I can trace my patterns, add dimensions, and send by PM. But since I only collect M70s, mine are specifically sized to that model, so they might not work for anything else without adjustment… They’re also sized to standard dimension stocks, so Marksmans stock are out…
The repro Winchester brass plaques on these were a gift from Seewin… Thanks Steve!!!
