OnlineSelling full and sealed box (50 rounds) of Winchester W.R.A.Co .22 caliber single shot ammunition. Box is in excellent condition with all labels fully intact. There is some old writing on the bottom of the box–perhaps the price of 75 cents?? Please pardon the glare–the box is wrapped in plastic. According to Giles and Shuey’s book, this box was made from 1903 to 1906. Asking $200 plus $15 shipping to lower 48 only. Please send me a PM if interested.
Thanks,
Don

OnlineHi guys,
It is the same as the .22 WCF and intended for the model 1885 single shot rifle. It’s also the predecessor to the .22 Hornet cartridge. Here’s the Wikipedia description:

Don, this isn’t a caliber I’ve ever heard of…..was it known in the times as “22 Winchester single shot” and the cartridge actually looks like the picture on the label? Is it analogous to a more modern round we all know?
That was not the caliber marking used on the barrel (which was .22 WCF), so it’s odd the cartridge box is marked this way.

Winchester also listed it in the early catalogs as the “22 Winchester Single Shot”, sometimes abbreviating is “22 S.S.”, but yes, the barrels were always marked “22 W.C.F.”
