OfflineFor your consideration I have a Lyman number 48 WJS that will make a nice addition for your model 54 or 70 Rifle. All adjustments work as they should, both mounting screws are with the sight. There is a bit of chrome that has flaked off the top portion of the gradient scale and a bit of blueing loss I touched up with a bit of cold blue on the face of the base. This is a 3rd variation sight with a base dimension of 1.00″ X 1.065. The 3rd variation sight does not require any wood removal from the stock. (according to Stroebel) The aperture reduction insert is absent. Price is $225 plus $12 shipping in a USPS small flat rate priority box. This sight also fits the Remington models 700 721 722 & 725. Thanks for looking!
You can send me a PM here or email me at [email protected]. email would be best as I do not check this site daily.

Erin, you’re singing my song- almost. I’m in the market for a Lyman 48 WJS for a pre- war 70, but I need the one that “IS” for the cutout stock. Oh well, I’ll keep looking. RRM
Too bad that didn’t work out for you Rat Rod, as that’s a nice sight and a fair price. IMO!
Erin,
GLWS!

I thought I might have a solution for your dilemma. I have a loose Lyman base, however it is a 48S which is for the 03A3 Springfield. Sorry, that’s the best I can do for you………..

OfflineHey Erin, no big deal. It just gives me an excuse to occasionally hit the local shows and run into some of the fellows I’ve become friends with over the years. Get invited to sit behind their table and catch up on the latest is the best part of the show. A sight will come along sooner or later. See ya, RRM
