For sale I have a new in box Lyman 21 receiver sight marked WR for a Winchester Model 95. This sight is new and never mounted on a gun. It has all the hardware, plus Lyman 21 Directions. The box is the older two piece white box with white label. But the label reads Sight No. 38. According to Stroebels Old Gunsights book, the packaging was the same for the Lyman 21, an 38 sight.
I’m asking $750 shipped.

That’s a great sight Al, and NIB, is hard to find.
I have the same sight,(with the white box), close to NIB, for a Marlin 93, with the “J” code on the back.

Sight looks like a nice 21 lyman. Box says 38 tho. Thought the 38 had a threaded windage knob?

Thanks. The sight is new and has never been installed. The box confuses me as well. The instruction sheet in my box is for the Lyman 21. According to Stroebel the packaging for the 21 sights, and 38 sight was the same white cardboard box with white label.
I agree Al, as I got my information on the box from the same source, Nick Stroebel’s book.
I feel you have you’re sight priced accordingly, and for the right amount, as the right collector just hasn’t seen it yet.IMO!
Curious did you get it from Ken Bean, York, PA?
That’s where mine came from, at an OGCA show in Cleveland years ago.

I didn’t get it from Ken Bean. I got it from an older friend of mine who’s had it for many years. Not sure exactly where he got it but could’ve been from Ken.

I did a fair bit of business with Ken, who seemed to have a real knack for having the oddball sights I was seeking. Sadly, he died about five years ago.
