I also recommend this book. It is filled with very comprehensive detail about the history of the Winchester company. Prior to reading it, I had no grasp of how many twists and turns there were. It is very well researched.

OfflineI enjoyed the chapter on Roosevelt’s African trip. One hunter that just returned suggested the .32 W/S for most of the African Big-5. Stating that the solid .32 W/S bullet was very effective on elephant. Maybe, Hornady can start making these bullets. You never know. You might need to use your old Model 94 to finish of a rouge bull elephant.

OfflineThis book wasn’t on my radar but one year at Cody Bert gave me a copy and told me there would be a test later.
I enjoyed it very much for the historical insight and business case study. I stumbled across a first edition a few years later and Bert’s copy went to another aspiring Winchester collector. Some of the later editions used better paper but the first edition is pretty cool and good enough for reference use.

Bo – it only makes sense that the .32/WS would be much more effective on elephant. It would surely have the .30 WCF beat.
Tony – glad you enjoyed the book. It is a winner.
Mike – this is one book I would dread to take some sort of comprehensive test on. There is so much detail.
