These have been together since 1889 and won’t be separated. They are both 44-40. I haven’t had them long but I have an opportunity for some one in a lifetime type guns if I can clear enough funds. The 1873 is 93%+ with vivid case everywhere including the butt plate and the etched panel is a solid 90%. They are the probably the two best conditioned guns of there type that most of us will ever put our hands on. The 73 doesn’t letter with factory swivels. As far as I know that’s it, nothing else that’s not right. The family kept passing them down till no one appreciated them I guess and the patriarch said she would rather sell. I know these are once in a lifetime style guns to but if you have a chance to get first generation SAA’s still in the box then its hard to pass up. If I have to keep these it s ok but I know if I were to sell each at auction the 73 would be close to 10k and the FSS would be between 15 and 20. I’ll take $28k and I know they won’t be far from that at auction. If you are seriously interested send for more pics.

I went to Georgia this weekend and the guy at the gun shop put me in touch with the original family. After talking to the lady she says she can’t say for sure these two guns have been together since 1889. She said that they had been together as long as she could remember but that was it. very cool story if there were some way to prove it either way I don’t think there is.I’ve decided to buy some different guns and I need the cash I will take 9k for the 1873.I don’t believe you’re going to find a better 44-40.
