I have for sale an early Winchester Model of the 1917 serial number 367, which makes it the 367th model of the 1917 produced. Winchester was the first manufacturer to make the 1917 and they started producing rifles before the Army told them what markings they wanted on the receiver. This rifle has "U.S. W "367" The barrel date is 6-17. The rifle still has the rust blued finish and retains over 90% of the finish. The bore is excellent with strong rifling. It is a service grade CMP 1917. Most of the parts seem to be WRA marked.
It is a CMP rifle, with Certificate. FLAG has been inscribed on the left side of stock.
Serial no W 253 sold for 2631.88 at the CMP auction.
Asking 2200.00 + shipping for this very EARLY Winchester 1917.
Need to sell for Medical Bills.
Thanks for Looking.
