Winchester 70 Carbine Short Action .308 Sights|Winchester Sights|Forum|Winchester Collector

I have a Winchester 70 Carbine Short Action .308 (post 64 – G Serial Number) that has threaded holes for a front sight. However, there aren’t any holes tapped on the barrel for a rear sight.

Would someone know what sights came with the gun? Right now, there is a scope on it and the only thing I can think of is that the rear sight may have mounted to the threaded holes for the scope mount.

The front sight is gone and has one cap screw. The other screw is missing as well. I would like to get the same sights that would have originally came with the gun, but I can’t seem to figure it out. At the very least, I would like to get a cap screw for the one threaded hole to make it look better.

Any help would be appreciated.
