Hello,
As the weather gets warmer I have decided to take my Winchester 1895 carbine chambered in 30-06 manufactured in 1925 out to the range to test some reloads. While it does group well I quickly realized that the windage would need to be adjusted. How would I go about doing that? My sight appears to be all there.

Hi Bert,
The front sight is a Marbles style blade sight with brass bead. Here is a picture of the rear sight, hope this helps!

Dan, First let me say, I have yet to actually change the windage on any of my 1895 carbines. Also I hope my terminology makes sense to you.
If you look at the front (muzzle side) of the sheet metal blade that the vee is cut in, you will see two small screws. On top of the heavier structure the blade is set on, you will also see index marks to the right end. Please make note of the relative location of the end of the sheet metal with an index mark. Slightly loosen the two screws and move the blade in the direction you wish the point of impact to move. I don’t know how many inches at 100 yards each index equates to so be cautious and try but one index mark at first. Then snug them down. You should use a good fitting gunsmith type screwdriver to loosen the two screws as buggering them up will be bad and I don’t know of a ready source of replacement screws. If they seem stuck, don’t get wild trying to force them, but use a good penetrant like Kroil and let time work with it. Be careful and judicious. All the parts are small and likely a tad delicate.
