OfflineI went to a local commercial show yesterday. I usually don’t bother but one of the table holders owed me money. Table after table of black rifles and beef jerky.
However, on one table an older gentleman had some interesting stuff. I found this nice thin base graduated peep sight and wind gauge front sight. No markings on the base of the graduated peep sight. No markings on the wind gauge sight either. I had to look in one of the old catalogs to see that Winchester sold the wind gauge sight with or without the spirit level.
They were the only things I purchased.
Sometimes you find a unicorn among the black rifles.

I call myself a collector as it sounds better than hoarder

OnlineGood eye, almost makes wading through black guns and jerky seem like a good idea. I went to a mainstream gun show awhile back to unload several modern guns and did not enjoy the experience despite a very good sales day. Hope your collection efforts were successful.

Sure, if it’s local. But a long drive, not so much. Unless you have a REAL appetite for jerky.
Jerky is always good, but I am missing a few teeth and cannot chew the stuff any longer. Big Larry

Both sights most likely were originally on a Winchester Single Shot (high-wall) rifle.
